Google Photos Story

It's kind of cool how Google Photos automatically puts a whole vacation together into a story using your pictures, GPS and time. Here is what Google Photos just did with our vacation pictures:

Heading Home

Left Paris today on Air France. It was a very smooth flight home. The fasten seatbelt light never came on during the flight

Sunday Boulevard de Grenelle Market

Went to the Sunday Grenelle Market today. They seem to have expanded it by one block. It's just packed with everything you could imagine. Here's a few picture I took:

Eiffel Tower Fermé

So we went to the Eiffel Tower today. When we arrived the Eiffel Tower was taped off with police and military people walking around. It opens at 09:30 and we waited until 10:15 for it to open. Everyone was convinced that they were filming a movie and would open it soon. I saw no movie cameras or trailer marked with any type of production equipment logo.

We returned at 13:00 and it was still closed. I then did a news check on my phone and discovered this, "BREAKING NEWS: Eiffel Tower is closed to visitors after terror suspect 'with large rucksack' is seen ascending France's most famous attraction"

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3241936/Eiffel-Tower-closed-visitors-terror-suspect-large-rucksack-seen-ascending-France-s-famous-attraction.html

I did get a few good pictures of the Eiffel Tower:

Winter in Paris

I got up at 06:30 and walked outside; jeez, I could see my breath. I then wondered if there was frost last night. I checked my phone and it was 45 degrees. Since we were in Nice, I didn't bring any winter clothing. I have a light sweatshirt, but that's it. I hope that's enough for Paris today. It's suppose to be 66 degrees today and I can't wait until it warms up.

CitizenM Hotel Paris CDG

We are staying at the CitizenM Hotel Paris CDG https://www.citizenm.com/destinations/paris/paris-charles-de-gaulle-hotel  It's really different. I felt more like I was in someones living room rather than a hotel, but I guess that's the feeling they want.

There are 6 registration computers when you enter, with a staff member standing by in case you have any problems. You scan a card access card for your room and elevator key. You also get a receipt for 2 free drinks.

The hallways are white with witty sayings written on them. The rooms are small, but adequate. Everything and I mean everything in the room is controlled by a 7" Samsung tablet and is easy to navigate. There is a small refrigerator in the room. The oddest thing in the room is the TV mounted over the bed. There are 24 channels on the TV, with 3 news channels in English, the BBC, Aljazeer and CNBC. There are also free movies and they are all the latest releases. The WiFi is free and it has a strong signal and is fast in all the areas I tested it at.

The bar area becomes very active after 9:00pm and takes on a party vibe.

Here's a few pictures I took.

La Havane

Went to La Havane tonight for a beer. We have been to the La Havane a couple of times in the past. I am guessing it's a pro-Cuba Restaurant. On their menu is a picture of a revolutionary and a red star. Republicans would freak if this restaurant opened in the states. :-)

We had a couple of 1664 beers along with hot and spicy popcorn served in a coconut shell.  We must have hit happy hour because two beers were only 8,40

Beaulieu-Sur-Mer

Went to Beaulieu-Sur-Mer http://www.beaulieusurmer.fr/ today. It's pretty much a boating community with a lot of private yacht clubs by the water. The port area is quite large.

We had pizza for lunch at Le Pointu
They had good reviews at Trip Advisor
